This week I practiced taking different kinds of reflection. I took reflective pictures using water, mirrors and windows. The first two pictures show reflection of boots in water. The second two are reflections of trees, but one is reflected by water, and the other is reflected by a window. The last two pictures show something different in the mirror and what is against the mirror. In the picture with the flowers, a blue flower is up against the mirror, but the reflection shows a yellow flower. In the other image, you can see the black bucket and the pipes, but you can't see that in the reflection.
In my concentration series I will be exploring reflections. I will include mirrors and other reflective surfaces. I plan on using scale, space, rule of thirds, and value and contrast. I think reflection can create a unique imagery. I like how reflection shows a different meaning opposed to a normal picture of something. A picture that is not reflected can show an object feeling alone, and with the mirror, the objects’ company is its reflection.

I love the variety and experimentation in this group of photos! It's interesting to see how the mood changes when the trees are reflected in water versus a manmade surface. The composition of the bottom image is dynamic and interesting. I love the complex spaces you have created with all of these images. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool series! Your idea is so unique, and your pictures are beautiful. Every single one of them is really interesting and fun to look at. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteI love the reflections of the orchard trees. The reflaction looks surreal and more beautiful then the actul tree, but together they contrast eachother.
ReplyDeleteThis idea is wonderful! I can see it getting really complex and creative. The tree reflection pictures are well-taken. I'd like to see deeper meanings in your reflections series, that'd be really cool.
